The women’s golf draw for partner variation Stableford game on Saturday attracted a competitive field of 14 players.
Pam Sikora and Chrissy Gilligan were drawn as the team who took the win with 47 points.
It was a close competition and they won on a countback from Marlene Wynd and Daphne Cross who shared the same score.
Barb Barklimore and Joy Josephson came home in third spot with 46 points.
Daphne Cross was the individual winner with a score of 32 points.
Nearest the Pin prizes went to Robynne Morton on the 7th hole and Angela Fryer on the 15th.
In Sunday’s Par game, an even card was enough for Chrissy Gilligan to finish with the win.
Gilligan was followed by Geraldine Francisco and Karen Walsh, both on -1, while Serena Fraser posted -2 for fourth place.
Geraldine Francisco was closest to the pin to win the prize on the 8th hole and Narelle Green was the best on the 11th hole.
Last Wednesday was another golf day washed out which brought little complaint from golfers although the dust and wind could have stayed out of the equation with a number of branches littering the course as a result of the strong winds.
This week’s competition kicks off with a Stableford today and another Stableford will be played on Sunday.
A two person Ambrose (select own partner) is set down for Saturday.
The lady golfers Presentation Night/Christmas party will be held on November 23 at the club.
Golfers are requested to please add their names to the list on the notice board for catering purposes.—T’d Off
