Junior soccer players are quickly developing their skills

Minis award winners: Lewis Shepherd (Raging Rhinos), Max Mckenna (Busy Bees) and Arthur Neale (Raging Rhinos) after their Round 2 match on Saturday at Ward Oval.

There’s only been two rounds played in the 2026 Cobar Junior Soccer competition but players are already displaying some great soccer skills.

In the Minis division games played on Saturday morning at Ward Oval, Charlotte Cronin, Max McKenna and Remi Quintal showcased great skills in their matches to win the Gumnut Milkshake Awards.

The Minis’ Cobar Hotbake Donut Awards went to Lewis Shepherd and Spencer Fugar while the Shell Slushie Awards were earned last week by Malia Sariman, Arthur Neale and Odin Ackerley.

In the Minis games, Cornish Dragons, Sky Strikers and Busy Bees finished with Round 2 wins.

Cornish Dragons beat Pitch Pirates 6-nil with Cooper Colling responsible for kicking four goals for his Cornish Dragons and team mates Elizabeth Brown and Spencer Fugar booted in one each.

The Sky Strikers won their match over Maroon Miners 4-0.

Levi Tiffen netted three goals for his Sky Strikers team and the other came from Remi Quintal’s boot.

In their Mini’s match, Busy Bees beat Raging Rhinos 4-1.

Baxter Woods found the back of the net three times while Claire Thompson also goaled for Busy Bees.
