Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club newcomer Jarred ‘Jacko’ Davey cleaned up this season, winning all but two of the club’s perpetual trophies.
At the club’s 2015/2016 season presentations on Friday night at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club Davey claimed the club’s Overall Club Championship Point Score ‘Curly Solomon Shield’ finishing the season with 200 points.
He was well ahead of runner-up John Carswell with 169 points and third placed Stephen Clark on 164.
Davey, on 59, was only narrowly ahead in the points tally to win the 30 Metre Cobar Bowling & Golf Club Shield from Bill Fugar and Trevor Menadue in equal second place on 55 points.
Davey, with 78 points, took the 50 Metre Russell Harland Memorial Shield from Stephen Clark (72) and Bill Fugar finished in third place with 56 points.
Davey was a contender for the 100 Metre Phil Knuckey Memorial Shield having finished with 63 points, however John Carswell (with 74 points) prevented Davey from making it a clean sweep.
Stephen Clark was third in that category with 53 points.
Davey claimed the inaugural ‘Ian Settree Memorial One Night Stand Award’ with the best score of the night with a total of 0.25 seconds off his nominated times from all events.
Davey also won the Brace Relay trophy after he teamed up with Bill Fugar. It was the third consecutive Brace Relay win for Fugar.
The club’s Most Improved was Doug Rorke who collected the Tom Knight Memorial Shield while Bob Clark earned the Brush Award for the most memorable performance on an away trip.
