It was a perfect start for the new 2022 soccer season

The predicted cool start to the morning
on Saturday quickly turned into a beautiful
sunny day, and one that was perfect for
playing soccer.
Players had their first run of the season on
Saturday after the Round 1 games the previous
week were washed out.
In the Minis division games on Saturday,
Liverpool defeated United 3-1, with Maddox
Best and Ashton Hyland being the stand-out
players in the match.
Maddox earned the Gumnut Milkshake
award while Nestor Linn took home the Cobar
Hotbake Donut Award for their Liverpool
team.
Chelsea had a big 7-1 win in their Minis
game against Rovers while the Rangers defeated
Wanderers in their match-up, 2-1.
Leo Neale (3), Max Preisig (3) and Jack
Preisig (1) were the goal scorers for Chelsea.
Rangers winning goals came from Tom
Geppert and Liam Peatey.
Leo Neale collected the Gumnut Milkshake
award while Max Preisig received the Cobar
Hotbake Donut Award.
For their efforts Isla Jo Murray scored the
Gumnut Milkshake award for her Rangers
side and Darcy Geppert took home the Cobar
Hotbake Donut Award.
In the Mids division, United beat Rangers 5
-0, with goals scored by Tom Preisig (2),
Zara Patterson, Henry Geppert and Charlie
Nicholson.
Jack Geppert took home the Gumnut
Milkshake Award while Joshua Gillette collected
the Cobar Hotbake Donut Award for
United.
In the other Mids game, Rovers defeated
Liverpool 4-0 with Mark McBride (3) and
Joseph Theakston scoring goals for their
team.
Mark McBride was awarded the Gumnut
Milkshake prize while Jax Claus took home
the Cobar Hotbake Donut Award for the Rovers.
In the Seniors game Rangers had it over
Spurs to finish with a 9-4 win.
Jade Buckman led the scoring for the Rangers
with four goals with Jacob Theakston
netting three and Fraser Talu and Caleb
Theakston added one each to the tally.
Fraser Talu took home the Gumnut
Milkshake award while Alice Potter earned
the Cobar Hotbake Donut Award
