A number of local community services collaborated to raise awareness of
homelessness issues by hosting a free soup kitchen lunch in Drummond Park
yesterday. They also brought in a couch representing where many young people find
themselves when they are escaping family and domestic violence, a housing crisis,
have inadequate or inappropriate housing or there’s been a relationship and family
break down. The event aimed to raise awareness of Youth Homelessness Matters Day
and offered information about where to get help if needed.
