Early Anzac Day service

With schools breaking up last week for the holidays, Cobar Public School held an
early Anzac Day service at the school on Thursday. RSL Sub Branch Cobar
president Kain Neale was the guest speaker. Mr Neale said while Anzac Day each
year has a different theme, Anzac Day specifically commemorates the landing at
Gallipoli on April 25, 1915 by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps where
they suffered great casualties. (Over 8,000 Australian soldiers were killed.) School
principal Jonathan Harvey and Mr Neale are pictured above with some of the school’s
students after last week’s service. ▪ Photo contributed
