Another drawn game was recorded in the Junior Touch competition last week with Green and Yellow finishing with a 5-all draw in the 13-16 years age group.
Green fought back from a 5-2 halftime deficit and kept Yellow scoreless in the second half to finish with a draw.
Holly Watt, Maddie Bruce and Lachlan Brookman scored Green’s tries while Ella Oborn, Rhylee Patterson and Jack Dunn ran in tries for Yellow. (Girl’s tries are worth double points.) Green’s Ethan McLeod shared in the referee’s Best & Fairest points with Rhylee and Jack.
The other 13-16 years game between Blue and Pink kept its scorer extremely busy recording a total of 17 tries for the match.
After having a small half time lead of three points, Blue went on to have a busy second half to finish with a 14-6 win over Pink.
Axel Fairfull led the try scoring for his Blue side with a tally of four tries for the match and Rhylee Jeffery matched him in points, contributing two tries (valued at four points).
Clay McDonald added three points with his three tries and Bridgette Negfeldt and Rowdy Barton also crossed for a try each for Blue.
In reply, Harry Cousins scored three tries and Sosie Barton and Aiden Hyland scored one each. Sosie, Axel and Harry earned the referee’s B&F points.
Yellow grabbed an 8-3 win in their 9-12 years Round 2 game with Red in their match up last week.
Alfie Toomey led the scoring for Yellow with three tries with Dusty McDonald, Harpa Martin, Hugo Josephson and Tom Preisig scoring a try each. Tommy George scored all three of Red’s tries.
The referee’s B&F points went to Taj Goonrey (Red), Harpa and Hugo.
Orange finished as big 9-0 winners in their
9-12 years match with Blue.
Rhylee Jeffery contributed four points to Orange’s tally with her two tries, with George McDonald also crossing twice and Judd Josephson and Lara Stephens added the extras with a try each. Blue’s Ella Oborn earned the referee’s B&F three points with George collecting two points and one point went to Harlow Chaplain (Orange).
