
The Australian PGA Senior Sand Greens Championship & Amateur Pro Am golf competitions will be contested in Cobar at the end of the month as part of the 2025 Legends Golf Tour.
It’s one of 80 events planned for the year that will be taking place all over Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
The Legends Tour is for professional golfers over 50 years of age and has attracted players like the calibre of Peter Senior, Mike Harwood, Peter Fowler, Terry Price, Peter O’Malley, Peter Lonard and US PGA Tour winner Andre Stoltz.
Players registered for the competition in Cobar will come from across NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, New Zealand and England.
On this year’s tour is four time winner of the PGA Legends Tour, Guy Wall.
Wall is originally from South Africa where he played amateur golf at a high level.
After emigrating to Australia he played for 17 years as a pennant player for Pymble Golf Club in Sydney and won the NSW Mid Amateur.
Wall decided to turn pro at the age of 50 and won the 2015 Legends Tour Q School.
He qualified for both the Senior Open and British Senior PGAs where he made the cut.
Wall said the Legends Tour has given him the opportunity to play with golfers he used to watch on TV, such as Peter Senior, Mike Clayton, Ian Baker-Finch and Terry Price…Full story in this week’s edition out now!
