Golfie bowling greens were busy with quarter finals action

The Golfie bowling greens have been busy with Triples and Singles Club Championships games contested along with a few social games played throughout the week.

A Triples Club Championships quarter final game was a played on Sunday and resulted in a big win for the team of Craig Dillon, Alan Knight and Greg Read.

Dillon was in sensational form as were Knight and Read and they defeated Peter ‘Pottsy’ Arnold, Kevin Kershaw and Jack Tulloh by a resounding 28-8 margin.

Two Singles Club Championship games were also played at the club on Sunday.

In one match, which proved to be a real thriller, Gerard Livingston narrowly defeated Kyle Roberts 31-30, while in the second game Greg Read’s years of experience playing on the Golfie greens shone through in his 31-8 win over Alec Frazer.

Sunday’s social game was won by the triples team of Ian Jenkinson, Greg Fraser and Craig Dillon with a score of +2.

In Sunday’s Pairs contest Jim Goonrey and Max Humphries emerged as the game’s winners by a narrow 14-13 margin.—Max
