The Cobar Catholic community came together on Sunday to farewell parish priest Fr Sabbas Assenga who is moving on to Narromine. Originally from Africa, Fr Sabbas came to Cobar “for a short time” at the end of 2016. He said he was made to feel very welcome and has enjoyed his more than four years spent in Cobar. Fr Sabbas is pictured above at his farewell luncheon at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club with Frank Difilippo, Geoffrey Langford, Leonie Clark, Joan O’Brien, Daphne Cross and Phyllis O’Brien.
