The Cobar Athletics & Triathlon Squad (CATS) club held their final triathlon of the summer season on Sunday at the Cobar Memorial Swimming Pool.
It was the last chance for athletes to reach their season goals and improve on their earlier performances.
And improve they did with 12 athletes recording new personal best times on Sunday, including Tom Summerhayes who set a new Short Course record.
Summerhayes completed the 300m swim, 10km ride and 2km run in 32 minutes and 40 seconds.
Hot on his heels were Axel Fairfull, with a new PB of 33.02, and Isaac Theakston, also with a new PB, of 33.09.
The field had to contend with some very warm weather with the mercury already reading 25.2 degrees when the race kicked off at 8am and by the time the last of the field had finished, it was four degrees hotter.
The handicap winner was Harry Cousins who had the most improved time with second place going to Team FUBAR (Khan Fugar and Georgia Baker).
In third place was Team Knee High Tri (Greg McKervey and Amanda Hyland).
The end of season presentations followed with Isaac Theakston (who competed in all events this season and set a new short course record) named the Male Triathlete of the Season while Laura Andrew was the Female Athlete of the Season.
The best performing junior was Axel Fairfull and Khan Fugar was the Most Improved Athlete of the Season. Veteran, Chris Powell earned the Iron Man Award.
