The Cobar Arts Council’s annual Art & Photography exhibition kicked off the Festival of the Miner’s Ghost with the official opening last Wednesday.
Karen Watts was awarded first place in the visual arts category and received the Thelly Wade Perpetual Trophy for her achievement.
Peter Rogers placed first in the photography section and Jaymee Manns picked up first place in the other artistic work category.
Eva Hallager received the most votes for the People’s Choice award and Chris Lumber was the winner of the raffle.
A number of awards were also given to preschool aged children who had submitted artworks for the exhibition.
First place in the art works primary school category was shared between Kindergarten Red, Chad Giles and Sam Whiteman.
Second place was shared by Trace Wynne, Zac Boland, Clancy Harvey and Katelyn Martin.
Third place was shared by Tayla Brilley, Tiana Jones, Mia Garbutt and Mitch Chaplain.
Highly Commended awards were presented to Sarah Nicholson and Alysha Ernanto, the Encouragement awards were given to Hayden Seng, Mimi Clark and Reegan Traynor.
In the sculpture categories first place was awarded to Brock Fitzsimmons, Victor Mfoi and Imogen Lake.
Second place was awarded to Ava Francisco, Clancy Dunne, Coen Sylvester, Riley Urquhart and Ruby-Belle Stingemore.
Third place was awarded to Rishah Jawajiwar, Westen Collins, Harry Motton and Sam Whiteman.
Highly Commended for the section was awarded to Emma Little, Chase Cavolot and Lexie Cain, while the encouragement awards were presented to Ava Fullagar, Jayden Cryer and Kody Maloney.
The novelty category winner was Sam Whiteman, who took out first and second place.
The judges awards were presented to Chad Buckman, Evie Tanke and Jaidyn Connelly.
