Fast Fades’ fast start sets them up for a great victory

The Fast Fades (pictured above) made a quick start to their B Grade Mixed Touch grand final match on Thursday night scoring within minutes of the start which caught their Red Hot Chlli Steppers opposition off guard. The Chilli Steppers never managed to recover as Fast Fades went on to claim a 7-5 win.

Fast Fades finished as the 2025 B Grade Mixed Touch grand final winners on Thursday night after they accounted for the more highly favoured Red Hot Chilli Steppers, 7-5.

Krista Nardi opened Fast Fade’s account  early in the game touching down out wide to give the Fades a 2-0 lead. (Female tries are worth double points.)

The Chilli Steppers’ defence was penetrated three more times by Fast Fades’ quicks, Maddie Bruce and Damon Bruce, and an elusive Sam Best, who danced around several defenders to score.

The Chilli Steppers failed to produce a cohesive attack but Sione Fakahua’s two first half tries kept them in the hunt as they went to the break with the score at 6-2.

After the restart, the Chilli Steppers suffered two early injuries however they out-pointed Fast Fades 3-1 in the second half as Player of the Grand Final Jackson Muldoon ran in two tries and Fakahua recorded his third for the match.

Best crossed for his second try and helped Fast Fades to seal their two point win, 7-5.
