An exciting draw was played in the Senior Netball A Grade competition on Saturday between Pumpettes and ENDivas.
The match started with both sides going goal for goal and strong defence was also a feature with Rachel Gentles (Pumpettes) and Corrina Brenton (ENDivas) giving their sides a number of turnovers.
The game was tied at 22-all at half time, before Pumpettes pulled out to a five goals lead at three-quarter time.
ENDivas’s combination of Nikki Davey in the centre court feeding the ball to her sister Lisa Travis in the circle saw them fight back in the last quarter to finish in a 41-all draw.
Pumpettes’ Jo Carter was outstanding in the centre court and helped control play all game.
Gentles, Davey and Leah Le Lievre (Pumpettes) shared the game’s Best and Fairest points.
JKM Dynamic Fitness had the luxury of a full side for their A Grade match on Saturday with Wildcats.
JKM well and truly outplayed the Wildcats to finish with a big 57-17 win.
Amie Hill was a superstar in defence for JKM while Wildcats’ were well served by Anita Atuau in attack.
The game’s Sportsmanship Points were shared by Neve Carter and Stacey Harrison.
Real Steel managed to just keep their noses in front the whole game to beat Mystics 27-26 in B Grade.
They had a three goals lead at the end of the first quarter and were two points up at half time.
Real Steel had a three goals advantage heading into the final quarter and great ball skills between Natalie Prisk and Haylee Prince and a late intercept by Bethany Smith to give Real Steel possession helped to hold off a Mystics fight back.
Catherine James and Bethany Thomas were best on court for Real Steel while Mandy Hewlett was Mystics’ most valuable player.
In the other B Grade game, Ravens finished as 10 points winners over Gumnuts.
Lisa Robinson and Ellie McLaughlin were stand-outs for Ravens while Nicola Mathews and Carli Schulz were Gumnuts best players.
