Dunn won the first one this week

Ann Dunn picked up a win in last Wednesday’s Ladies Golf competition winning the Stroke game on a countback over Sally Bannister after both ladies finished the day with 73 net.

Fay Hardwick had a successful return to golf posting 74 net for third place. Marlene Wynd scored 76 net placing her in fourth position.

Ann Dunn also took out the putting prize on the day with 24 putts.

In Saturday’s Canadian game 16 players took to the course with Angela Fryer and Narelle Kriz showing the way with 70¾ net, winning the day comfortably from Daphne Cross and Ann Dunn, Marlene Wynd and Susan Goonrey and Fran Samios and Sue Phillips who all came in with 77¾ net.

The winning pair also picked up the Nearest the Pin prizes on offer, Kriz on the 7th and  Fryer on the 15th hole.

Sunday’s Stroke game attracted 13 players with Daphne Cross the winner posting 70 net just ahead of Ann Dunn on 71 net.

Fran Samios placed third on a countback from Geraldine Francisco (both had 75 net each) and Sally Bannister had 77 net.

Ann Dunn once again was the queen of the greens with 23 putts for the 18 holes.

This week starts with a Stableford today and on Saturday the Polyfabrication Day Three Ladies Ambrose will take place so players are advised to get their team together ASAP.

A Stroke game will take the place of the cancelled Vets Country Championships that had been scheduled for Sunday and a Stableford is set down for the long weekend holiday Monday. Results of competition games  will now be announced after Sunday’s game at the club.—
