CSA makes big commitment to training

CSA Mine has taken on a large cohort of apprentices for 2022 which includes offer-ing seven full time apprenticeships and five school-based apprenticeships across five different trades.
A special apprentice induction was held for the big group at the mine last Thursday led by the mine’s Training Advisor and Apprentice Facilitator Wade Greenwood.
The induction included talks from some of the mine’s leadership team including General Manager Peter Christen, Jade Buckman, Mat-thew Ireland, Brandt Pattison and David Hob-den.
They outlined their journeys in mining with some also starting out their mining careers as Tradies.
This year the mine has taken on two fulltime Heavy Diesel Mechanics (Cameron Littlehales and Ryan Bird), two Auto Electricians (Georgie Buckman and Zane Taylor), one Boilermaker (Jarrod Blake), a Fitter and Ma-chinist (Clancy Dunne) and an Electrician (Samuel Shepherd).
Also newly recruited are five school-based apprentices which include two Auto Electri-cians (Tadgh McMullen and Reynold Mugug-ia), two Boilermakers (Jordan Bruce and Kae-leb Saunders) and a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Isabella Morton).
Ryley Morley has also successfully convert-ed from a school-based first year apprentice to a fulltime first year Light Vehicle apprentice at the end of 2021.
