Cobar Little A’s relies on parent helpers each week in order to be able to offer kids a range of track and field events to compete in. On Monday night Hayden Betcke got some coaching from his dad, Wayne, in the Under 7s Shot Put.
Hayden was quick to pick up the correct throwing technique and improved his distance on each attempt.
It’s going to take a lot of practice to beat the long held Under 7s Boys Shot Put Cobar club record of a whopping 7.28 metres which was set by Luke Maiden back in the 2006/2007 season.
The Under 7s Girls’ record is also going to be a hard one to match.
It’s 5.95m and was set by Abby Carswell during the 2008/2009 season.
