After going slightly off track earlier this season with the loss of a number of committee members who had left town, the Cobar Swimming Club is once again running well under new president Dave Giurin.

A donation of $2,500 from Sydney company Belle Banne has also ensured the club remains in good shape.

The club’s immediate past president Howie Young secured the donation for the club before he left town.

“Belle Banne, a rubber belting and roller supplier to Cobar Mines, are supporters of
the Inter Mine Golf Challenge and I asked if they would donate to the club,” Mr Young said.

Current committee member Tanya Hodges said the club really appreciated the donation.

“Like all clubs in town, we struggle so when someone like Belle Banne offer to help us, it was a real life line,” Mrs Hodges said.

Cobar Swimming Club swimmers will commence Club Championships tonight in Freestyle and Breaststroke.
