Cobar Junior Rugby League hosted teams from Narromine on Saturday at Tom Knight Memorial Oval for Round 10 of the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition.
Cobar finished with three wins for the day, including their Under 16s side, which record-ed their first win of the season.
It was a thriller of a game with the Roosters coming out on top with a 22-16 victory.
Reynold Mugugia was hard to catch as he ran in three tries for the Roosters.
Jayden Paul and Kaeleb Saunders also crossed for tries with Toby Greenwood land-ing a conversion. Reynold Mugugia and Tadgh McMullen earned the Coach’s Awards.
The Roosters Under 11s also added another winning notch to their belt this season after they beat the Narromine visitors 36-12.Tries for the Cobar Roosters Under 11s side came from Cohan Nicholson (2) Lachlan Brookman (2), Billy George (2) and Rowdy Barton.
Cohan Nicholson, Darcy Silvester, Rowdy Barton and Billy George were responsible for their conversions.
The Coach’s Awards went to Corey Piggott and Billy George.
The Roosters Under 12s also finished on the winning end of their match up against their Narromine Under 12s counterparts.
Cobar had a 14-6 victory with Rowdy Bar-ton, Jacob Chandler and Jackson Muldoon running in their tries. Rowdy Barton also kicked a goal.
The Coach’s Awards went to Jackson Mul-doon and Jacob Chandler.
The Roosters Under 10s put up a good fight but were narrowly beaten 30-20 by the visitors.
George MacDonald ran in three of Cobar’s tries with Talas Burke scoring their fourth.
George MacDonald and Mason King kicked a conversion each. The Coach’s Awards were shared by new recruit Temi Adesina along with Harpa Martin.
In the Under 13s game, Narromine was too strong winning 50-8.
Cobar’s points came from a try each to Jaxon Burke and Austin Dietrich.
Their Coach’s Awards went to Aiden Swan and Tim Eves.
Cobar’s Under 14s went down in a high scor-ing match, 58-20, with Narromine finishing out on top.
Lachlan Willard, Tahj Foley (2) and Nick Hodges landed tries for Cobar.
Tahj was also responsible for two conver-sions and shared the Coach’s Award with Lachlan Willard.
In the Under 9s non-competitive game, the Coaches Awards were earned by Eligh Ritter and Judd Josephson.
The Roosters will play away games in Dub-bo this Saturday for Round 11.
In the Minis competition played at Tom Knight Memorial Oval on Sunday morning, the Under 6’s Coaches Awards were earned by Cam Fennamore, Patrick Knox, Lenny Hill and Kade Taylor.
From the Under 8s games, the Coaches Awards were collected by Dusty MacDonald and Ashton Campbell.
