A group of six junior local swimmers last weekend competed at the Western Area Championships in Dubbo and brought home a swag of medals.
Makaila Gordon won seven gold medals in her 50m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 200m Freestyle, 100m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke events.
She also brought home silver in her 50m and 100m Breaststroke swims and finished with personal best (PBs) results in her 100m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle events.
Raymond Jones won a gold medal in his 200m Breaststroke swim and bronze medals in his 50m Backstroke, 200m IM, 50m Breaststroke, 100m Fly, 100m Backstroke and 400 IM events.
Raymond also recorded PBs in nine events over the weekend.
Thomas Jones collected three bronze medals in his 50m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly swims and recorded PBs in 200m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke events.
Jacob Lynch achieved a PB in his 25m Backstroke and placed 11th in 25m Freestyle.
Noah Lynch recorded PBs in 100m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke and placed 14th in his 50m Freestyle swim.
Byron Lynch placed 14th in his 50m Freestyle.
A group of seven Cobar junior swimmers also competed at the Dubbo City Swimtech Carnival on January 31.
Jair Apaza achieved five personal best (PBs) results in 50 Freestyle, 50m Dash for Cash, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke.
Byron Lynch finished with two PBs in 50m Freestyle and 50m Backstroke.
Jacob Lynch recorded a massive 17.02s PB in 25m Freestyle and placed 8th in his 25m Backstroke and 25m Breaststroke events.
Noah Lynch achieved PBs in 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke and 50m Breaststroke.
Raymond Jones improved to record PBs in his 200m IM, 100m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke, 50m Breaststroke and 100 Breaststroke events and also placed 3rd in 50m Backstroke.
Thomas Jones recorded PBs in his 50m Butterfly, 200m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle and 200m Breaststroke.
Makaila Gordon achieved 3rd place in her 50m Butterfly swim.
