Cobar swimmers recently competed at the Bourke and Orana swimming carnivals with many recording personal best (PB) performances to finish on the podium.

At Bourke on November 7 and 8 Makaila Gordon claimed four first place podium finishes (in Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly) along with a second place and four third places from her nine events.

Thomas Jones finished second in six of his events along with a third place and two PBs.

Raymond Jones swam a PB to finish third in his 50m backstroke event.

Byron, Jacob and Noah Lynch also competed at the Bourke carnival with Byron finishing third in both his 50m Backstroke and Freestyle events.

Jacob finished 4th in Backstroke and 5th in Freestyle while Noah came third in his 50m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle swims and 5th in his 100m Freestyle event.

The weekend prior Makaila, Thomas and Raymond competed at the Dubbo Orana swimming carnival.

Makaila finished third in her 100m Backstroke swim.

Thomas placed third in his 100m Breaststroke event with a PB and he also finished with two other PBs for the day.

Raymond Jones put in a good performance to record four new PB times but finished out of the top placings.

Makaila has been spending plenty of time in the pool and also attended a Western Area swimming development day with Alicia Coutts last month.
