A team of four riders represented Cobar High School at the North-West Equestrian Expo earlier this month.
The event is the biggest Inter School event in the southern hemisphere with 450 riders taking part this year in Coonabarabran.
It was a big five days of competition in wet and very muddy conditions.
This is the 4th year a Cobar High School team has competed in the annual event with the team growing from just one student in 2021 to four this year and included Zac Boland, Katie Nicholson, Lila Armstrong and Lara Stephens.
Zac finished 1st in Keyhole (sporting), 1st in his division of show jumping, 4th in combined training and 8th in team penning.
Katie was 8th in team penning and recorded some good times in her very competitive sporting classes.

Lara finished 5th in her age group, 4th in combined training, 5th in dressage, 5th in pairs (after teaming up with a Nyngan High School student) and also collected the ‘Horse most suited to Expo’ award in her division.—contributed
