Chesney finishes as winners of 2022 Athletics carnival

Cobar High School held their annual Athletics carnival last Monday at Ward Oval with the Chesney team finishing as winners.
Occidental were runners-up with Fort Bourke third and Great Cobar was 4th.
The school’s 2022 Athletics Age Champion in the 12 years boys age group was Liam Tovakuta with Jeremy Thornton the runner-up and for the 12 years girls, Khloe Harpley-Oeser was the champion with Lillie Living-ston the runner-up.
It was a close contest in the 13 years boys age division with Eli Hodges the age champi-on with a three-way tie for runner-up between Kai McCosker, Jackson Muldoon and Will Oborn. There was also a tie in the 13 years girls age group with Alora Deppler and Isa-bella Campbell both declared the champions.
Axel Fairfull was the 14 years boys champi-on with Harry Cousins the runner up. Sosie Barton was the 14 years girls champion with Pearl Blackburn and Rossita Kea the runners-up.
In the 15 years age group, Nick Hodges and Maddie Bruce were the champions with Oisin McMullen and Cassidy O’Sullivan the run-ners-up.
The 16 years age champions were Damon Bruce and Sarah Morley (runners-up Kai Taylor and Molly Broughton).
In the 17 years age division, Neve Carter and Aisha Schofield placed equal first for the girls champion title, Fraser Talu was the boys champion with Nauman Faisal and Tolu Adesina both runners-up.
From the carnival nine students have quali-fied for Western Region and include: Axel Fairfull, Henry Rogers, Sarah Morley, Kai Taylor, Eli Hodges, Fraser Talu, Khloe Harpley-Oeser, Nick Hodges and Jayden Paul.
