VIEW Club’s committee line-up is mostly unchanged

Cobar VIEW Club has begun its 39th year with 16 ladies attending the club’s annual general meeting at the Empire last Tuesday.
Phyllis Budd chaired the meeting resulting in the re-election of Enid English as president, Lillian Simpson (treasurer), Kate Winders (zone delegate and vice president) and Bev Anderson (publicity).
Dora Di Filippo accepted the nomination of vice president and Bev Anderson also took on the secretary’s role.
VIEW is a women’s voluntary organisation with the Cobar club part of a group of over 14,000 members across Australia who support The Smith Family’s work to improve educa-tional outcomes for disadvantaged Australian children and young people.
Through generous community contributions in raffles and donations, last year the Cobar club supported five students in the ‘Learning for Life’ program, as well as contributing funds to The Smith Family Winter Appeal.
VIEW stands for Voice, Interest, Education of Women and all clubs foster this through hosting guest speakers, fun events, sharing relevant information and supporting friendship within the local community.
The Cobar club extends an invitation to any interested ladies to go along to their next meet-ing as a guest and join in celebrating St Pat’s Day with ‘wearing of the green’ and all things Irish.—contributed
