Blue Bangers big second half effort paid off with a win

The Blue Bangers (pictured above) pulled off a great come from behind win over Green Pickles last week in Round 4 of the Seniors (13-16 years) Touch competition.

Two close contests were played out in the Senior (13-16 years) Touch competition on Thursday at Ward Oval.

Despite the very warm playing conditions for the Round 4 games, both matches were high scoring affairs.

Blue Bangers turned around their game against Green Pickles in the second half.

Green Pickles led 5-4 going into half time before Blue Bangers fought back to take a thrilling 9-6 win.

Rowdy Barton (2), Addison Cull, Holly Watt, Jackson Muldoon and Rhylee Patterson touched down for tries for Blue Bangers while Green Pickles’ points came from tries to Ella Oborn (2), Lachlan Brookman and Mark McBride.

Best & Fairest points went to Addison, Ella and Judd Josephson (Blue Bangers).

After narrowly trailing 6-7 at the half time break, Yellow fought back to claim an 11-10 win over Pink in their Round 4 match last week.

Rhylee Jeffery led the scoring for Yellow with three touch downs (worth six points as female tries are worth double).

Oscar Ryan scored a double and Lacey Watt and Cohan Nicholson also crossed for a try each for Yellow.

Pink’s points came from five tries to Kai McCosker, two to Josh Francisco and one each by Hannah Trudgett and Talas Burke.

Rhylee, Kai and Chole Griffiths (Yellow) earned the referee’s Best & Fairest points.
