Big field for triples competition

Jay Egan, David ‘Turk’ Kershaw, Narelle Kriz, Rod Bartley (Blacktown), Roger Allen (Hillston) and John Daly competing at the two day Triples Bowls Tournament at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club over the weekend.

Cobar Bowling & Golf Club held their annual Triples Bowls Tournament over the weekend with the weather gods providing perfect conditions for the 26 teams.

Players came from Blacktown, Hillston, The Rock, Wagga Wagga, Tumbulgum, Cunnamulla, Dubbo, Nyngan and Cobar.

The winners were Doug Roberts (nee Hudson), Don Roberts and Kyle Roberts with five wins and +51.

Craig Grimmond, Bian Smith and Gerard Livingston were hot on their heels with five wins and +49 to claim second place.

In third place with four wins and +38 were Karen Daly, John Daly and Tony Polack while John Fitzgerald, Peter ‘Skeet’ Goonrey and John Goonrey claimed 4th spot with four wins and +37.

Round 1 winner was Barry Bargwanna, Dave Knight and Al Knight with +15, Round 2 – Steve Bowen, Mick Berwick and Jack Tulloh (playing with Blacktown) +12, Round 3 – Barry Boyton, Ben Treadea and Peter Green (The Rock) +18, Round 4 – Barry Wommersley, Rod Bartley and Davy Damjanovic (Blacktown) +18, Round 5 – Al Gardoll, Greg Clark and Dave Schofield with +21.

Al Gardoll was the winner of the Calcutta.
