Visitors entering Cobar from the north (and locals returning to town) will be greeted with a new ‘Welcome to Cobar’ sign erected by Cobar Shire Council last week. The new sign pays homage to Cobar’s rural heritage and portrays windmills, working dogs and a crop in a field. The sign is part of Council’s town beautification plan and is another project funded under Phase One of the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program. Council staff have further plans to finish off the area with a garden bed
