Community raises almost $85,000!

The Cobar community came together on Saturday night at the Cobar Services Club to do what it does best—to raise a tonne of money for someone in need. Saturday’s cause raised $84,950 to help four year old Alastair Tatnell and his family as Alastair undergoes
extensive treatment for B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in Sydney. Family friends, Sheena Geppert, Brianna Everingham and Elodie Manns, rallied around and came up with a truck load of donated items which included sporting memorabilia, tools, artwork, household appliances, and vouchers from various local businesses for goods and services. They were all expertly auctioned off in more than 60 different lots by Hamish Adlington (with assistance from Daniel Stephens). “There are simply no words to express how deeply touched our family has been by your generosity,” Sheena said on behalf of the Tatnell family. “The lengths that our friends, family, and even complete strangers have gone to, and continue to go to has completely blown our little family away. Your generosity over this past month has allowed our family to be together and 100 per cent present, and to be by our little man’s side while he fights his biggest battle yet. Cobar, you are not just a town, you are a family!” Pictured above are the organisers, some of the successful
bidders along with members of Alastair’s family.
