Trial N Error turned a closely fought contest into a convincing victory with a dominant second-half performance to defeat Last Minute Legends 43-25.
The two sides were evenly matched early in Round 9 of the Cobar Netball Association Senior Ladies competition on Friday night at Ward Oval.
The scores were locked at 7-all at the first break and then Last Minute Legends edged ahead to take an 18-17 lead going into half time, to set up what looked like being a thrilling finish.
Instead, Trial N Error lifted another gear after the break.
Strong teamwork and accurate shooting saw them take control of the match as they outscored Last Minute Legends 26-7 in the second half to run away with an impressive
18-point win.
Best & Fairest points were shared between Trial N Error teammates Georgia Baker and Lise Ioane, along with Last Minute Legends’ Tillie Cain.
Cain also picked up her side’s Sportsmanship award, while Anita Atuau earned the Sportsmanship points for Trial N Error.
The other two Round 9 matches went the way of the competition’s top sides.
Ladder leaders Smash Ups recorded a comfortable 56-27 win over ATC Angels, while Divas were leading Broughton Ballers 44-11 in the late game when their match was called off at three-quarter time due to very cold temperatures.
The final round of the regular season will be played this week before the semi-finals get underway next week.
