Cobar Golfers dominated the NSW Veterans 4-Ball-Best-Ball Sandgreen Championships in Narromine on the weekend.
Garry Wilkin and Richard McLean combined beautifully to win the 36 hole scratch event by 10 shots with a score of seven under par.
Bill Fugar and Peter Brien took out second place with +3, while just one shot behind was fellow Cobar Vets golfers Max Phillips and Roy Bennett.
In the local games played over the weekend the Fraser family again blitzed the field.
Local golfers were heard to remark they were glad only two Frasers played on Saturday after Mark Fraser took out the top spot ahead of Alec Fraser in Saturday’s Stroke game.
Bian Smith rounded out the placings in third, and also picked up a Nearest the Pin prize for the 7th hole, while Mark Fraser got the prize on the 8th hole.
A small field of seven golfers played a par event on Sunday with Glenn Ratcliffe taking the win.
The Fraser family again featured with Mark finishing second and Stu Fraser in third.
Stu also picked up a Nearest the Pin prize on the 7th hole, Alec Fraser got his name in the winner’s list again with the Nearest the Pin prize on the 8th hole and Jay Egan picked up the final prize (15th hole).
Golfers will contest Stableford games
this Saturday and Sunday, with a number looking to contest the Nyngan Open this weekend.
