The Castlereagh Cougars Women’s Rugby League Club held their end of season awards on Sunday in Coonabarabran with Cobar players (pictured above) featuring predominately in the line up of award winners. In the Opens grade, Neve Carter was named the team’s Best Forward and Kayla Hasson won the Coaches Award. Cobar players won three of the four awards handed out in the Under 18s team with Bridgette Negfeldt named Best and Fairest, Kelsey Neve earned the Coaches Award and Sophie Cain was named their Most Improved. For the Under 16s, Rhylee Patterson collected the Coaches Award. In the Under 14s team, Rhylee Jeffrey was named their Best and Fairest, Isabelle Gillette won the Coaches Award and Tillie Cain was their Most Improved. This season the Cobar players clocked up a massive 2,732kms and 4,235km (round trips) playing in the Peter McDonald Premiership and Western Women’s competitions respectively. ▪ Photo contributed
