The nervous wait for HSC exam results for Cobar High School students is over with this year’s results released last Thursay.
A number of Cobar High School’s Year 12 class of 2016 told The Cobar Weekly they were pleased with their results, with many saying they felt they had got the result they deserved based on the effort they had put in.
Many are planning to head to university or TAFE in 2017.
Among them is Jennifer Awuku who will be studying nursing in Newcastle along with her sister Joana who will be studying teaching.
Bryan Mitchell is awaiting offers from Sydney and Monash Universities where he has applied to study electrical engineering.
Blake Toomey has received a couple of university offers and hopes to attend Macquarie University to study science teaching; Brooke Hartman has plans to study beauty therapy in Cairns; and Gabriella Lennon will be heading to Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast to study a Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
A number of students are planning to take a gap year before continuing their education in 2018.
Niamh Urquhart will work in the family business for a year before heading off to Canberra next year to study teaching while Kaitlyn Byrne has been accepted for a Bachelor in Event & Tourism Management/Bachelor of Sport Management to begin in 2018.
