To celebrate the first anniversary of its re-opening to the public, Cobar Shire Council offered free ‘Tours with a Twist’ of The Great Cobar Museum last Wednesday night. Pictured is museum curator and storyteller, Kay Stingemore, leading one of the interactive tours. Visitors were assigned mining jobs at the start of their tours and found out information about different aspects of mining and various local characters who were involved in our mining history. At the conclusion of the tour, they collected their “pay cheques” at the pay office.
