With sponsorship from both CSA Mine and Aurelia Metals/Peak Gold Mines along with in-kind support from Cobar Shire Council, this year’s Christmas Street Parade and Gala Shopping Night looks set to be another successful event.
Cobar Business Association president Sharon Harland said they were thrilled to have gained the support of Cobar’s three biggest local employers to help make this year’s event better than last year’s.
“Their generous sponsorship enables us to bring out some top class entertainment from Sydney. We’ve been lucky to be able to book the talented Series of Events team to come back and entertain us again this year,” Mrs Harland said.
“Their big Christmas Grinch Show last year was a huge hit with kids and mums and dads and they’re promising they’ll have even more tricks and stunts for this year’s show.”
Mrs Harland said the association is calling for interested local sporting groups and charities to hold food and market stalls.
“We get a great crowd each year so it’s a good way to fundraise for your organisation,” she said.
“We also hope to get lots of entrants for this year’s street parade.
“It’s going to be hard to top last year’s parade, but we’re aiming to,” she said.
