Former Cobar golfer Ann Middleton and friend Gina Kenny (both from Coffin Bay SA) were the winners of the Vi McLaughlin Memorial ladies Golf Day on Sunday.
The pair finished the Canadian game with a combined score of 68 and, after a countback, they edged out Karen Manns and Ann Dunn, (also on 68) back to second spot.
In third place were Sally Bannister and Ger-aldine Francisco on 71 with Fran Samios and Annie Trewartha (also from Coffin Bay SA) in 4th place with 73.
Rounding out the top five, Marlene Wynd and Daphne Cross were next best with 74½.
Nearest the Pin prizes were won on the 3rd and 8th holes by Wynd, 7th by Bannister, 11th Robynne Morton and the 15th was claimed by Trewartha.
Geraldine Francisco won Monday’s Stable-ford event by two points finishing with a score of 37 ahead of runner-up Fran Samios on 35.
Karen Manns was third on a countback over Glenda Peebles after both finished with 34.
Fay Hardwick was closest to the flag in A Grade, Francisco won B Grade and Peebles was the C Grade winner.
Ann Dunn and Sue Phillips were drawn out as partners for Saturday’s Four-Ball-Worst-Ball Stableford event and the match up was a good one with the pair winning with a score of 22.
Fay Hardwick and Glenda Peebles were the runners-up on 21, with Annie Trewartha and Heather Thompson (visitor from Victoria) third on a countback, also with 21. Hardwick was the individual winner with a score of 36.
Nearest the Pin prizes on the 7th hole went to Sally Bannister (A Grade), Geraldine Francisco (B) and Daphne Cross (C).
There were 11 players for last Wednesday’s Par game with Geraldine Francisco finishing out in front on +2.
A countback was then needed to separate Fay Hardwick and Glenda Peebles (both with –2) and Julie Livingston was 4th on –3.
The Nearest the Pin prizes on the 3rd hole went to Hardwick (A Grade), Sue Phillips (B) and Peebles (C).
