The Cobar junior Roosters finished with
four wins for the day in the 2022 Dubbo &
District Junior Rugby League competition
on Saturday.
Six Cobar sides travelled to Dubbo on Saturday
with the Under 10s, Under 11s, Under 12s
and Under 16s sides all coming out on top in
their Round 3 games.
The Roosters Under 10s played a thriller of
a match to narrowly beat St Johns Maroon
30-28. Tries for Cobar were scored by Isabelle
Gilette, Tommy George, Austin Kane and
Judd Josephson (2) with goals landed by Billy
Watt, Eligh Ritter, Tommy George, Lucas
Townsend and Austin Kane.
The Players’ Player was London Hyland and
the Coaches Award went to Judd Josephson.
The Roosters Under 11s finished well out in
front in their match with South Dubbo with
34-12 the final margin.
Jawayne Dodds (2), Temiloluwa Adesina,
Jaxon Waugh and George McDonald (2) were
the try scorers with goals kicked by Mason
King, Talas Burke, Temiloluwa Adesina,
George McDonald and Rhylee Jeffery.
Jawayne Dodds was named Players’ Player
and the Coaches Award was earned by Temiloluwa
Adesina.
The Cobar Under 12s finished with a convincing
36-10 win in their match with Dubbo
Macquarie.
Cobar’s try scorers were Rowdy Barton (2),
Clay McDonald, Lachlan Brookman, Eli Martin
(2) and Jaxon Waugh with Cohan Nicholson
and Rowdy Barton their goal kickers.
Cohan was named their Players’ Player and
the Coaches Award went to Eli Martin.
The Roosters Under 16s also dominated
their South Dubbo opposition to win their
match
28-10.
Cobar’s points came from tries to Tahj Foley
(2), Tommy Bryan, Tadhg McMullen and
Oisin McMullen with Tahj Foley converting
three goals and Tommy Bryan kicked a conversion
also.
Cobar’s Under 16s Players’ Player was
Jamal Eves with the Coaches Award going to
Tommy Bryan.
The Roosters Under 14s were competitive
but were beaten 38-24 by their South Dubbo
opposition.
Cobar’s try scorers were Jaxon Burke (2),
Axel Fairfull and Jay Lamond.
Tim Eves and Hayden Seng kicked two
goals each.
Their Players’ Player was Ethan McLeod
and the Coaches Award went to Ryan Mugugia.
In the Under 9s game (which is not scored)
versus St Johns Blue, Cobar’s Players’ Player
was Hugo Josephson and the Coaches Award
went to Dusty McDonald.
In the Mini League competition games
played on Sunday at Tom Knight Memorial
Oval, the Under 6 awards were shared by Roman
Waugh and Ollie Tranter while the
awards in the Under 8 division went to Harlem
Walker, Cooper Trudgett, Ashton Campbell
and Ford Ellison.
