A local woman was found alive on Saturday afternoon after surviving in the bush for five days after she was the subject of a NSW Police search last week.
Danielle Martin, known to her friends and family as Nelly, was reported by her partner as missing to police last Wednesday afternoon.
According to the police report the 26 year old mother of two was last seen at her home in Hartman Street on Monday night. She is reported to have spoken to both her partner and a friend via mobile phone the following day, but was then not able to be contacted.
On Wednesday afternoon officers attached to Darling River Local Area Command launched an investigation into the incident which included searches by Polair.
At the time of her disappearance Ms Martin was driving a white Toyota Hilux.
Friends and family members joined the search for Ms Martin putting the word out on social media in an effort to locate her.
Ms Martin was found about 3pm on Saturday afternoon approximately 5km from Cobar on the Lerida Road by a passing motorist.
She was barefoot and appeared to be suffering from hypothermia.
She was taken to Cobar Hospital for medical treatment and was later transferred to Dubbo Base Hospital where she is still undergoing medical care.
NSW Police Inspector Brenton Lee said Police have since located the Toyota Hilux she was driving in nearby bushland and their investigations into the incident are continuing.
