Masks were mandatory for the Cobar Hospital Auxiliary’s annual general meet-ing on Monday.
Cobar Hospital Auxiliary committee presi-dent Sharon Harland said members found it “a bit weird” attending a meeting with every-one wearing a mask.
“With ongoing uncertainty around COVID, it might be something we’ll have to get used to, especially as a number of our members are seniors and in the most vulnerable age group,” Mrs Harland said.
The meeting returned Mrs Harland once again as their president, with all of the other executive roles also unchanged.
Merredene Cantwell retained the role of vice president, Beryl Martin was again voted in as secretary, Barbara Bartlett was returned as treasurer and Phyllis Budd once again ac-cepted the role of the group’s patron.
In her president’s report, Mrs Harland said the group had donated almost $6,000 worth of equipment for the Cobar Health Service over the past year that included a mobile pressure relief chair and two shower com-modes, which will help to increase the com-fort of hospital patients.
“We have been a bit limited in our fundrais-ing efforts this past year due to COVID, but were lucky to receive a $1,000 donation from the Buffalo Lodge which has been a great help,” Mrs Harland said.
