Visitors entering Cobar from the north (and locals returning to town) will be greeted with a new ‘Welcome to Cobar’ sign erected by Cobar Shire Council last week. The new sign pays homage to Cobar’s rural heritage and portrays windmills, working dogs and a crop in a field. The sign is part of Council’s town beautification plan and is another project funded under Phase One of the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program.
