The Cobar Bowling & Golf Club bowlers
hosted Bourke Bowling Club teams on Sunday
for the 3rd round of the 2021 pennants
season.
Cobar’s Greg Read and team had a great
win getting home by 20-14. Kyle Roberts
(playing lead) laid the foundation, and took
out the title of the Cobar Player of the Day.
Craig Grimmond and his team escaped a late
scare to eventually finish with a win, getting
up by +4.
In the decider game, Bourke were well in
control throughout the match with skipper
Dale Barker in outstanding form.
That said, Cobar were in contention until the
final bowl, going down by just one shot overall
56 to 57.
In social bowls played on Sunday, Peter
‘Skeet’ Goonrey, Karen Daly and David
Schofield received a bowls lesson from the
team of Randal Hall and Helen Boddy who
combined well with Frank Singleton to finish
with a winning score of +14.
Singleton took out the unique combination
of the Player’s Player title and the George the
Giraffe award.
