Tony Brown wins his first bowls title

Tony Brown was all geed up to play his first bowls Singles final on Sunday morning up against young gun Kyle Roberts. Roberts got off to an early start however Brown came back at him to finish with a nine shot win and the 2018 Singles title.

The Men’s Bowls Singles final was played at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club on Sunday morning with Tony Brown taking out his first Men’s Bowls Singles title.

Brown defeated Kyle Roberts 31-22 to claim the title.

Roberts had got off to an early 13-4 lead but then found points elusive for an extended period. This allowed Brown to crawl back to take the lead 20-13.

From this point the ends won switched between the two however Brown’s seven points lead proved too large for Roberts to recover.

It was a great game of bowls played in good spirits in front of a good crowd.

Earlier that morning 12 players contested two games of consistency triples bowls.

David Knight, Doug Hudson and Jeff Smith finished as the winners of the day.contributed
