A report is being prepared for the coroner after a fatal accident west of Cobar last week.
Police and other local emergency services were called to the accident about 4pm last Thursday where a vehicle had left the road and rolled over around 110km west of Cobar.
A 19 month old boy was killed in the accident while his mother was treated at the scene for a laceration to her head and injury to her hips.
The woman’s six month old daughter was also treated at the scene for minor bruising to her head.
Cobar SES Unit Controller Gordon Hill said the Cobar Unit remained on the scene until 5.30am Friday, providing lighting and general support as police from Darling River Local Area Command and the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene.
Mr Hill said members of the Cobar SES Unit who attended the accident have been offered Critical Incident Support Services as a result of the traumatic event.
