Cobar Health Council met earlier this month and welcomed three new members.
Renee Matheson, Stephanie McDonnell and Niamh Urquhart attended their first health council meeting which discussed a range of issues including Advanced Care Directives.
An Advance Health Directive is a legal document that states a person’s wishes or directions about future health care for various medical conditions.
Health Services Manager Mary Urquhart outlined the document and spoke about the importance of having the ‘conversation’ with family members.
She said the health council has decided to run an Advanced Care Directives health promotion at an upcoming Cobar Market Day.
Also at the meeting chairperson Gordon Hill gave an update on the Primary Health Network while Integrated Care project leader Genie McMullen gave an overview of a Paramedic Connect home monitoring service.
