A group of Cobar knitters have once again strongly supported the Rotary ‘Wraps with Love’ charity program.
Rotary Club of Cobar secretary Gordon Hill said the ‘Wraps with Love’ program encourages knitters to make squares which can be joined together to make warm wraps for disadvantaged people in Australia and overseas.
“For many years the ladies of Cobar have supported this important program by knitting up a storm and this year has been no different with over 100 knitted squares and several completed wraps left at the Cobar Library for Rotary Club members to pick up,” Mr Hill said.
The pile of knitting was recently taken to Narromine for on-shipment to Sydney.
“When the squares and wraps reach Sydney, they are sorted, and the squares sewn into completed wraps before they are distributed to needy people in Australia and overseas,” Mr Hill said.
“The knitting ladies of Cobar have done a great job once again.”
