70 years of love and laughter

Locals Val and Noel ‘Toss’ Jermyn celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Friday. The couple was married on March 2, 1948. “It wasn’t a very big wedding,” Val recalls. “We were married early in the morning and then caught the train to Lithgow. We had very nice weather for our honeymoon,” she said. The couple has spent most of their married life together in Cobar apart from a stint living on the coast. They have five children, 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Some of their family joined them on Friday to mark the happy occasion. Photo contributed
