The 2018 ladies golf season started in extreme heat on Saturday with 11 players braving the conditions.

Wan Sipatsa won the Stableford event with 39 points and also recorded the Nearest the Pin shot on the 15th hole. Jannine Wilkin was the runner-up posting 36 points and was also closest to the flag on the 3rd hole.

Geraldine Francisco took out third position with 35 points and Chrissy Gillian placed 4th with 33.

Sunday’s Four-Ball-Best-Ball game couldn’t be played as there were only nine players on hand so a Stableford game went ahead with a ‘déjà vu’ moment as Sunday’s three place-getters were the same as Saturday’s winners.

Wan Sipatsa had a brilliant round of 41 points to record a second win in the season opener and took both Nearest the Pin prizes on the 8th and 11th holes.

Once again Jannine Wilkin finished in second spot with 36 points and Geraldine Francisco posted 35 points to secure 3rd place for the second time over the weekend.

Today’s game will be a Stableford and a Stroke event is set down for Saturday. A Canadian is scheduled for Sunday so partners are need to be organised for this day.—T’d Off
