There was a big crowd of over 1,000 people through the gate for the 2026 Cobar Rodeo on
Saturday at the Dalton Park Horse Sports Complex. All were there to see the thrills and
spills of the rodeo action and many were keen to see how Chris Deighton’s team of 10 charity
riders would perform. Chris’ crew (pictured above minus Kai Taylor, who can be seen in
action on Page 20) outdid themselves raising over $50,000, which will be equally shared
between the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Wings4Kidz charities. Jack Fazulla was the
highest fundraiser of the group, collecting just over $8,820 of their total, while Kai Taylor
had the longest ride at 6.7 seconds, just short of the eight second qualifying time.
