Urquhart named Cobar cricket’s Player of the Year

Ryan Urquhart was named the Cobar & District Cricket Association’s Player of the Year at the club’s 2022/2023 end of season presentations on Saturday night at the Empire Hotel.

As Player of the Year, Urquhart collected the Paula Potter perpetual trophy.

He also earned the Under 24 Player of the Year title and was the leading wicket taker of the season.

Jay Egan was the best with the bat this season finishing with the Most Runs.

Egan was also one of the leading wicket takers which helped to earn him the Best All Rounder trophy.

Tilpa Bushies collected the Twenty20 champions’ trophy with Nabeel Rashid named the Player of the Grand Final.

The Twenty20 Player of the Year was Jacob King.

The Golf Club team hoisted the 40 Overs trophy after their victory over Empire earlier that day and claimed the Bert Oldfield Cup.

Golf Club’s Jason Hampel, who claimed four wickets in the grand final match, was named the 40 Overs Player of the Grand Final.

Hampel was also named the Representative Player of the Year.

Charlie Nicholson was named the Under 18 Player of the Year and Mason King earned the  Glenn Spinks Player with the Most Potential trophy.

Lakshmi Maddipati earned the unfortunate title of having the Most Ducks this season.

Alec Fraser was named the Club Person of the Year and the Gentlemen of Cricket trophy this season went to Mark ‘George’ Fraser.
