The Yabbies’ tie tradition continues

The tie tradition continued at the Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club swim last Tuesday night with two ties recorded in the first event.

Scott Toomey and Andrew Watts both finished to within 0.03 seconds of their nominated time to grab equal first place in the 30 metres handicapped freestyle event.

In equal third place was new member Craig Kelly and a relatively old member Trevor Menadue, both swimming to within 0.06 seconds of their nominated times.

Watts had all the glory to himself in the 50 metres swim taking first place with a time of 0.13 seconds off his nominated time.

Second was Jesci Clark (0.44) and third was Colin ‘Butch’ Eves (0.47).

Menadue stormed home in the 100 metres event to win with a good time of 0.13 seconds off his nominated time.

Kelly was second on 0.25 and Scott Toomey with 0.41, finished in third place.

Last week’s brace relay novelty event required one swimmer to breaststroke across the pool and the other had to swim backstroke back.

The team of Doug Rourke and Kelly took line honours finishing 0.15 seconds outside their nominated time.

In second was Luke Quintal and Jason Toomey (1.44) and back in third place were Mark Fenton and Stephen Clark (1.56).
