Orange Socks outplay The Blues to record their first win

The Orange Socks recorded their first win of the 9-12 years Junior Touch competition last week outplaying The Blues to win 7-4.

Jaxon Waugh led the try scoring for his ever improving Orange Socks team finishing the game with a hat trick of tries.

Rhylee Jeffery added another two points to the team’s tally with her try (female tries are double points) and Talas Burke added two points also with his two first half tries.

Charlie Nicholson (2) and Clair Cousins responded with tries for The Blues.

Talas, Hugo Josephson (The Blues) and Clair earned the game’s Best & Fairest points.

The other Juniors game was a high scoring one with Harpa Marin running away to score three tries to help her Bananas team to a 10-6 win over the Red Rangas.

Also scoring for the Bananas was George McDonald (3) and Alfie Toomey.

Red Rangas replied with tries from Tommy George, Mason King, Ella Oborn and Jessica Rogers.

Best & Fairest points were earned by Audrey Josephson (Bananas), Jessica Rogers (Red Rangas) and Zara Patterson (Bananas).

The SpongeBobs finished with a six point win in their high scoring game with Flamingoes in their Round 4 game of the 13-16 years Junior competition.

SpongeBobs won 14-8 with Jaxon Burke the game’s leading try scorer.

Jaxon touched down for five tries to help the SpongeBobs to their big win.

Jayden Cryer and Jayden Paul both scored doubles with Rowdy Barton, Maddie Bruce and Alora Deppeler adding a try each to their team’s big tally.

Flamingoes were well served by Kai Taylor, who recorded three tries, along with their other try scorers Tim Eves, Chloe Griffiths and Rhylee Patterson.

Flamingoes’ Lachlan Brookman, SpongeBobs’ Alora Deppeler and Flamingoes’ Will Oborn shared in the game’s B&F points.

Green Guns had a big 10-3 win over the Untouchables.

Green Guns shared the scoring around with five players responsible for their points and included: Damon Bruce (4), Ethan Mcleod (2), Ashley Cousins, Parker Cryer and Kai McCosker.

Sarah Morley and Eli Martin scored a try each for the Untouchables.

Best & Fairest points were earned by Axel Fairfull (Untouchables), Damon Bruce and Piper Allen (Green Guns).
